How we guess. The model starts from the resort's usual crowd level and adjusts for school holidays (French zones, UK half-term, Presidents' Day, Lunar New Year), weekends, time of day, lift capacity from OpenStreetMap, powder days and summit wind. When skiers on the hill tap a wait time, their reports replace the guess for 45 minutes and the lift shows LIVE.

Ski access score: 9.5 means ski-in/ski-out (a piste within 70 m and a lift within 600 m). Each minute of walking to the nearest lift costs about half a point. Distances are straight lines on OpenStreetMap, so add about 30% for the walk.
